Dimetapp
Brand development | digital advertising + social video campaign
Role: Design lead, Art Director (character creation, storyboard designer)
Concepted and designed an original character to represent Dimetapp’s signature grape flavor. The character was then adapted into a trademarked campaign to promote the brand during cold and flu season. Working with a copywriter, CHRLX (animation house), and a $50k budget, the Cold’s Beware campaign was born — and so was a new brand mascot.
Born from another brief…
The brief was simple: make one pdf of the current brand guidelines and assets for Dimetapp — but I took it upon myself and provided some new logo sketches, if they ever wanted to rebrand —one of which was Grapey (right).
The client immediately feel in love with this character and decided to give our team $50k to develop into a video campaign for the brand.
The grape character was then added onto all packaging after the success of the campaign
